The route of the Via Annia
B&B Dimora Naviglio is located on the Via Annia track, an ancient Roman consular road built by the consul Tito Annio Rufo in the distant 131 AD. The Via Annia connected the city of Adria with that of Aquileia, the ancient seat of the X Legio Romana. There are numerous testimonies and remains that can be found along the way. Although the road has almost completely disappeared, you can still glimpse the old pavement near the city of Altino, home to a new multimedia museum and point of intersection and arrival of the Via Claudia Augusta. The other locations have museums with precious testimonies, as well as Adria and Altino, are Padova, Concordia Sagittaria and Aquileia.
The route of the Via Annia, as well as under the tourist aspect, is to be considered important for the gastronomy. In fact since the past in remote times it was the path used for the transport of local goods. Now more than ever it can be biked by following the various routes and detours available. If you like the idea of riding it by bike, we suggest the following program.
